As the spring sunlight streamed through the workshop gates and gleamed on the polished equipment, 28 pairs of mentors and apprentices stood side by side in dark-blue uniforms at the final assembly workshop of Ningbo Free Trade Zone Haitian Zhisheng Die-Casting Equipment Co., Ltd. A solemn apprenticeship ceremony was held under the theme “Forging Craftsmanship · Passing the Torch.”

The “new apprenticeship model” has become a fine tradition at Haitian Zhisheng Die-Casting and a required path for new employees. This modern mentor-apprentice relationship not only carries forward the spirit of craftsmanship, but also fosters Haitian’s commitment to quality and culture, helping newcomers quickly adapt to the company and become familiar with their new roles. With this heartfelt ceremony, Haitian Zhisheng Die-Casting has opened a new chapter of skills inheritance for the 2025 intake. A total of 28 mentor-apprentice pairs participated in the event.

At 2:30 p.m., the ceremony commenced with an address by Chen Feng, Deputy Director of the Production Operation & Control Center. He emphasized that under the guidance of the “Family Culture” and “Team Culture,” the apprenticeship system was born. The agreements signed today are not only the baton of craftsmanship, but also a pledge of responsibility. He expressed confidence that the interns will grow rapidly through the dedicated one-on-one guidance of their mentors.

Next, Wang Kexin, Director of the Final Assembly Workshop, delivered a speech on behalf of the workshop leadership. He noted that the apprenticeship system serves as an important institutional safeguard for cultivating and passing on frontline technical talents. Now in its third year of implementation, the program has enabled generations of mentors and apprentices to grow together through hands-on practice.

Afterward, the company honored two outstanding mentor-apprentice pairs from 2024. Outstanding Mentor Jiang Lei and Outstanding Apprentice Cui Yuheng each gave a speech. The mentor shared that beyond the sense of accomplishment in guiding an apprentice to mastery, he was also inspired by the younger generation’s spirit of innovation and curiosity, which encouraged him to re-examine and refine his own skills. The apprentice expressed gratitude for his mentor’s patient guidance, noting that under his mentor’s instruction he was able to swiftly transition from a student to a professional in the workplace.

During the signing of the Apprenticeship Agreement, 28 mentor-apprentice pairs solemnly placed their names on the contract. This was followed by the presentation of Letters of Appointment for Mentors and the distribution of Apprenticeship Handbooks. The letters symbolized both recognition and responsibility for the mentors, while the handbook, which includes details of the system and blank pages for apprentices to record reflections, served as a tool for growth. As the apprentices bowed and offered tea, their resounding greetings of “Hello, Master!” filled the workshop, with the aroma of tea mingling with the scent of machine oil to create a unique kind of industrial romance.

The work badges of all 28 pairs shimmered warmly under the light. This ceremony, infused with the warmth and human touch of Haitian Zhisheng Die-Casting, not only carried forward the ancient teaching that “a mentor for a day is a mentor for life,” but also embodied the modern collaborative spirit of a “craftsmanship team.” When the warmth of family culture is blended with steel, and the passion of a team is poured into the mold, the inheritance of Chinese manufacturing gains a timeless and powerful force.
